Key features
- Wired connection: Connects directly to devices with a Lightning port for lag-free audio without relying on battery power.
- In-line remote: The remote built into the cord allows you to adjust volume, control music and video playback, and answer or end phone calls with a pinch of the cord.
- Built-in mic: A microphone on the remote lets you take calls or use voice commands for Siri.
- High-quality audio: Engineered to minimize sound loss and maximize output, the internal speakers are designed for high-quality audio with rich, deep bass tones.
- Sweat and water protection: The EarPods offer increased resistance to sweat and water, making them suitable for workouts and daily use.
Compatibility
EarPods with a Lightning connector are compatible with most Apple devices that have a Lightning port and are running iOS 10 or later. This includes most iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models released between 2012 and 2023.
Considerations
- Port changes: Newer Apple devices, such as the iPhone 15 and current iPad models, have transitioned to USB-C ports. To use your Lightning EarPods with these new devices, you will need a Lightning to USB-C adapter.
- Wired vs. wireless: Unlike wireless AirPods, EarPods do not require charging or pairing, but you must keep them connected to your device to use them.
- Alternative for newer devices: If you have a device with a USB-C port, Apple also sells EarPods with a USB-C connector.
